How many of you would allow a cob spider to continue webbing up a dark corner of your church or temple if you knew it was there and you could see its effects?
Probably not many would leave it; gathering dust and dirt because we revere our church or temple, so we want to keep it clean!
But that is what we do with God’s temple, our bodies, whenever we allow deep-seated pain or shame to remain in the dark corners of ourselves. We may have chased out the spiders, but the cobwebs remain.

We get Saved and the Lord begins to work in us. We grow and He teaches us things about Himself that Transform us. But sometimes we leave the most difficult parts of ourselves stuffed into a dark corner somewhere in our subconscious. Sometimes it seems too difficult to dredge up those painful memories and reconcile them to God, so we avoid the corner, and the web continues to collect the dust of our shame.
When we neglect those dark corners of ourselves, we allow the “webs of dysfunction" to multiply. If we don’t face them and allow Jesus to do His work and shine His Light in the dark corners of our soul to clean us up completely, we suffer.

We suffer from dysfunction, and the world can see its effects. Give Jesus a chance to fully remake you into what you were created for. Seek Him, in His Word, and be Reborn.
Let Jesus shine His Light into those dark corners of His temple, your flesh. Watch the “cob spiders” flee and the remaining "webs of shame" be woven into a testimony of Redemption and the Unfailing Grace and Love of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
